John
Swanson
Senior
Pastor
Pastor
John Swanson spent 20 years working with an interdenominational
student group called Campus Crusade for Christ where he served
as pastor to college students. John and his wife Jane have six
children and three grandchildren. John completed his seminary
education at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield,
IL in 1996. Shortly after completing his studies John began talking
with the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) about joining
their church planting team. The EFCA was looking for someone to
plant a church in his hometown, Janesville. In 1997, John and
his family relocated to Janesville and began making contacts with
the goal of planting a church here. They started a small group
bible study in their home. This group incorporated as River Hills
Community Church in August of 1998. River Hills Community Church
met in various locations until moving into their new building
on the west side of Janesville in December of 2004.
