PARENTING
IS HARD WORK!
Somedays success is simply that you and the children are all still
alive. However, we want more than survival. We want our children
to flourish physically, intellectually, and socially. But, of greatest
importance to those who are followers of Christ is that our children
learn to trust and follow Jesus. How are we to impart a living faith
to our children in the midst of a world that seems increasingly
hostile to such a life? The Faith Training Seminar is designed to
both motivate and equip Christian parents and our
congregation with Biblical principles for this vital work.

“How
can we be successful at building spiritual life in the congregation
if the work be cast on us alone; and masters (parents, especially
fathers) of families neglect that necessary duty of their own,
by which they are bound to help us? If any good be begun by the
ministry (work of the pastor and other spiritual leaders in the
congregation) in any soul, a careless, prayerless, worldly family
is like to stifle it, or very much hinder it. Whereas, if you
could but get parents of families to do their duty … what
abundance of good might be done! I beseech you, therefore, if
you desire the reformation and welfare of your people, do all
you can to promote family religion.”
Richard Baxter in
The Reformed Pastor.
